Homemade Mustard Sauce
Along with ketchup, mustard is another common condiment. This recipe is easier to make than the ketchup. If you want a mustard with a stronger taste, use dark mustard seeds instead of white or yellow.
Ingredients:
- 1/3 cup of yellow mustard seeds
- 1/3 cup of dry white wine
- 1/3 cup of white wine vinegar
- 1 tablespoon of maple syrup
- ½ teaspoon of seasalt
- 1 teaspoon of ground turmeric
- A pinch of cayenne powder
- 2 to 4 tablespoons of warm water
- 1 to 3 teaspoons of horseradish sauce
Method:
Wash and soak the yellow mustard seeds overnight. Next day, drain the water and use.
Place all of the ingredients listed above, except for the horseradish sauce and warm water, inside a medium bowl. Stir the ingredients thoroughly. Cover the bowl and let it stand for two to three days.
Then place the ingredients in a blender and mix until the mustard is smooth. If the mustard remains too thick, add 2 to 4 tablespoons of warm water. At this point, if you want a stronger taste, you can also add 1 to 3 teaspoons of horseradish sauce. Once the mustard has reached the desired consistency, it is ready to go. Store in an airtight container or bottle.
