What are the differences between a CENTRIFUGAL juicer and a MASTICATING (a.k.a. GEAR) juicer?
What’s So Special About A GEAR Juicer?
If you don’t already understand the difference between a centrifugal juicer and a single or a twin-gear juicer, please go to these pages, and learn about the differences in more detail, about how they work:
Even though the cost of a single/twin-gear is a little bit more than a centrifugal juicer, they are far more superior in every sense—built, operation, output quality, features, functions, etc. What you pay “a little more” upfront will end up saving you MUCH more in the long run, in terms of:
extended warranty (up to 20 years)
less produce for higher juice yield
high/superior quality juice—rich in enzymes and nutrients
time-saving and less effort assembly, handling and wash-ups
medical bills
satisfaction
The METHOD of extracting the juice makes the whole world of difference in the QUALITY and the health properties content of the juice.
Here’s an inside look at the differences
between a CENTRIFUGAL and a MASTICATING juicer.
I bet you never really looked at them this way.
CENTRIFUGAL JUICER
SINGLE/TWIN-GEAR JUICER
Spins at high RPM (between 3,000 ~ 16,000). You are deprived of the precious nutrients and enzymes that get destroyed using this method.
Spins at a low RPM of between 40 and 160 in a stone-milling or grinding method that helps preserve the phytonutrients and enzymes. These are the properties that help to speed up your healing process.
The high RPM spinning traps a lot of air that quickly oxidize your juice. Oxidation is harmful to your body as it is a cause of many diseases.
The slow RPM spinning continues to preserve the freshness of your produce. Freshness can be preserved much longer without juice oxidizing.
Produces a lot of foam in the juice that shows the amount of air trapped in the juice.
Produces much less foam.
Uses a sharp blade to chop up the produce, then spins out the water content of the produce in high-speed, leaving behind the precious nutrients and destroying enzymes. End-result tastes diluted. Oxidized juice has a metallic taste (of rust).
Uses a stone-milling or grinding method to squeeze out not only the juice, but also 99% of the precious nutrients and enzymes. This causes the juice to taste much sweeter, with thicker texture that is packed with vitamins and nutrients.
Juice may get oxidized as soon as it’s extracted. Not recommended to store the juice for longer than 15 minutes.
Juice extracted doesn’t get oxidized quickly. With proper storage in fridge, possible to keep for up to 24 hours.
Cannot juice leafy vegetables.
Very effective in juicing any vegetable, root vegetable, wheatgrass, etc. Allows you to enjoy the many wonderful benefits of chlorophyllmore effectively.
Pulp is still wet, producing low juice yield.
Pulp is dry, juice yield is about 20-35% more than that produced by a centrifugal juice. Very economical in the long-run.
Many parts to wash with hard-to-reach corners, time consuming ~ causing you to lose interest in juicing.
Very few parts and very easy to clean. Washing-up takes less than 2 minutes. Time-saving.
Agricultural chemical and pesticides are included in the juice, causing sickness in the long-run.
Can help minimize the chemicals and pesticides in the juice. Gives you an almost chemical-free juice as Nature intended it to be. A twin-gear juicer can even separate heavy metals with its bio-magnetic technology.
Functions are limited. Normally used only for juicing.
Some models have 6 to 9 functions built into 1. Definitely more value for money!
Operation is noisy due to the high-speed spinning.
Operation is almost silent.
Purchase usually comes with a one or two-year warranty on the motor.
Usually comes with a 10-year, 15-year or even 20-year warranty due to the confidence the manufacturer has on the durability of the machine. This alone is worth the slightly higher price to be paid upfront.
RPM = revolution (rounds) per minute
