If you’ve been reading health articles on the internet for some time, you would have read about how good it is to drink lemon water in the morning. There are many variations to drinking lemon water. They are not wrong, but some just don’t get the most out of their daily morning ritual.

Drink daily lemon juice for health

Is Lemon Water Good For You?

I usually prepare my lemon water in a big jug every morning to last the day. It gives my metabolism and immune system a much needed boost. I simply love how incredibly refreshing and invigorating it is. But, there’s this little tip that many people overlook and thus, miss out on so much that a lemon has to offer.

Lemons are one of those very versatile fruits that I never go without. There is always a bag of fresh lemons in my fridge that I use for many purposes. They are loaded with super healthy benefits, and are a particularly great source of vitamin C and antioxidants.

  • One cup of fresh lemon juice provides 187% of your recommended daily serving of vitamin C.
  • Lemon juice also offers up a healthy serving of potassium, magnesium and many other essential minerals.
  • Lemons have an alkalizing effect on the blood.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but you are not drinking lemon water every time you sit at a restaurant and the waiter brings you a hot cup of water with a single slice of lemon. Let me guess: Your normal routine is to take that slice of lemon and squeeze the juice into the cup of water and discard the peel.

Well, you are actually not making the most of your lemon! There is one common mistake that most people make when enjoying a glass of lemon water. They don’t realize that the lemon peel is one of the most nutritious parts of the whole fruit.

Okay, I understand that the lemon at the restaurant may not be organic.

I know, I know, who thought there could be much more to know about a drink with only one ingredient. But, what you include in your water does make a whole world of difference!

Lemon Water For The Win

Lemon peel contains essential oils and most of the bioflavonoids that are superb in boosting maximum goodness into your cells, thus multiplying its benefits much more than the juice itself.

Health experts say that lemon water acidity aids in digestion. It helps to slow absorption of food, which conserves insulin stores in the body, and ensures it absorbs most of the nutrients from the food you eat. So, remember too when you juice lemons, add the peel!
