This drink works more efficiently when you also eat a healthy low-fat diet by eliminating processed and deep-fried foods, flour and sugar products, gravies and coffee.

Remember to also drink LOTS of water to help flush out toxins and hydrate your cells properly.

NOTE:
If you’re on any medication, DO NOT consume grapefruit or its juice as it may interfere with the metabolism of the drugs.

    1. Hi Shauna, best time to drink this juice is in the morning, on an empty stomach. You may eat a solid meal half an hour later.

  1. Could you please tell me how to make this drink? Do I use a juicer, liquidize the ingredients or just extract the juice from the fruit mix and drink?

    1. Hi Somayya, you need to remove the peels from the citrus fruits, cut them up and juice altogether. Happy juicing!

  2. I am taking cholesterol medication every alternate day. Can I consume grapefruit juice on days when I do not take my medication?

    1. Hi SL, I’m not supposed to say this, but if you do consume grapefruit juice on alternate days that you’re not taking your cholesterol medication, I think you may eventually not need your meds! Try it for two weeks and work with your doctor about gradually reducing your dosage. 🙂

  3. Thanks Sara for your advice. I started daily juicing three weeks ago and I hope to wean off medication soon. Your recipes are awesome and my family are beginning to enjoy them although they dislike certain vegetables. May I know the purpose of adding ginger to the juices?

    1. Hi SL, I’m happy that you and your family are enjoying the recipes from this site. The purpose of adding ginger to juices are two-fold. One, it gives a nice “kick” to the juice, making it taste better. Two, ginger has many health benefits and is very healing for the digestive system and is anti-inflammatory. Do read more about ginger here.

  4. Hye Sara
    1. How many days in a week that I should take the juice?
    2. Can we take it every morning.

  5. just tried this juice, it is very good. I am looking to lose 45 pounds and I have wrinkly skin. IS there a recipe out there for this.

    1. Yes, wash/brush the ginger root clean and throw it in together with the other ingredients. No, it isn’t too hard for the juicer. Happy juicing! Sara.

  6. Hi Sara,
I absolutely love your Cellulite Blasting & Toxin Flushing recipe here. “)
I would also love to feature it in our website Greenthickies. Would it be all right if I used one image for it? I will not be posting the actual recipe, but only one image, title, a small quote and then link directly back here. Would it be okay?
    Thanks 🙂
