You may think you’re too busy to practice self-care, but these simple practices will really awaken your mind and liven up your day!
Sometimes, that 3pm crash can really get you down. Especially when you have a full day planned with friends and family.
Our first thought to keeping us awake might be caffeine, but there are plenty of natural ways to keep us awake, including what we eat, drink, and how we take care of ourselves!
What is Self-Care?
It’s all about YOU! You take care of everyone else in your life and it’s time to turn it around on yourself – because you’re worth it! Your family and friends will also benefit from your new found energy.
Self-care relates to physical and emotional energy that will help you deal with the day ahead of you. It’s all about soothing the body, relaxing the mind, and calming the spirit.
Creating a self-care plan will help prevent negative feelings and boost your energy to take care of business. It can be as structured or as loose as you’d like and can involve your family and friends as well (spread the love!).
10 Day Self-Care Plan
To get you started, try doing one of these things every day!
1. Have your morning juice
Tomatoes are a great fruit to beat fatigue and drinking what you want in the morning will put you in the right mood.
Try juicing 1 tomato, 1 apple, 1 cup blueberries, 1 stalk broccoli, and 6 large carrots for a sweet veggie boost.
2. Talk to a friend
Confide in someone you trust and you’re emotional stresses will fall away.
3. Hug it out!
Hug somebody today. Because it feels good.
4. Take a deep breath
Stop when you’re overwhelmed and take a deep calming breath. Try relieving some stress with this pineapple green juice.
5. Eat dinner outside
The fresh air will clear your mind and healing coconuts will go great with a summer breeze.
Try juicing half peeled cantaloupe and mixing it with coconut water.
6. Throw a home yoga session
Yoga is a sure fire way to de-stress and calm yourself to give you extra energy during the day. And everything is better with friends!
Rehydrate with a yummy post workout juice.
7. Take a fancy bath
Pump up the music or grab that book you’ve been dying to read and slip into a big ol’ bubbly bath.
8. Go for a walk
Getting close to nature can boost your mental awareness and exercise as simple as walking will beat your fatigue.
Even for a couple of minutes a day and it’ll quickly change your life by teaching mindfulness and patience.
10. Keep a journal
Make a note of the things that make you happy or soothe or comfort you throughout the day so you can add more of it to your daily routine. Tracking the foods that make you feel good is a great way of keeping your favorite recipes safe for future enjoyment as well!
