Green Juice (Helps Lower Blood Pressure)
- 2 green apples
- 1 head of Romaine lettuce
- 2 starfruits (carambola)
- 1/2 cucumber
- 1/4 lemon with peel
- 1 inch ginger
- 2 carrots (optional)
This green juice is suitable for diabetics—omit or use less carrots. For non-diabetics, the carrots are optional too. This combo is great for lowering blood pressure and is naturally anti-inflammatory.
Starfuits (a.k.a. carambola) is unique in that if you have kidney infections, it is a great tool for cleaning out the infections and strip bacteria off the kidneys wall lining. However, if you have a history of kidney stones then you’ll have to be aware of the high content of oxalates.
For this recipe, you can use guava or more cucumber and green apples in place of starfruits.
A masticating juicer is best for extracting green juices. Pulp is dry.
This recipe makes about 800 ml worth of green juice.
