How To Add Coconut Oil To Any Drink For Increased Weight Loss

Last updated on

If you haven’t already heard, coconut oil is an amazing substance that can be used for almost anything. Most people don’t know that you can use coconut oil for weight loss. It’s fats, right?

Coconut oil has many benefits to being consumed, including being antibacterial and anti-fungal which can kill off infections in the body. It contains medium chain triglycerides, which are different from our normal diet of long chain fatty acids and is metabolized differently in the body.

This compound has been proven to hold therapeutic effects on several brain disorders, including epilepsy and Alzheimer’s.

These medium chain fatty acids have also been studied in relation to our energy and have been concluded to increase energy expenditure by 5%, leading to significant long term weight loss.

Eating coconut oil can also help make you feel full longer, so you reduce the amount of food you consume throughout the day

How To Use Coconut Oil For Weight Loss

Try out coconut oil and watch the many benefits take place.

Unfortunately, coconut oil is still oil; it doesn’t quite sit right in our drinks. It might be hard for first timers to use, but that hasn’t stopped people from trying out the delicious superfood! There are certain tricks you can use to help incorporate the oil into your drinks and make it super easy to use.

Coconut Oil for Cold Drinks

Coconut oil works best blended into thick cold drinks. Simply warm and melt down the desired amount of coconut oil to use in the drink and pour it in slowly as it’s blending. I’ve discovered that using an avocado in your green juices works amazing to thicken it up!

Try this green juice before work for an energy boost and weight loss!

Avocado Greens with Coconut Oil

You’ll need:

  • ½ pineapple, cubed
  • 6 kale leaves
  • 1 cucumber
  • 1 teaspoon ginger juice
  • 1 avocado
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil

Add everything except the avocado and coconut oil to your juicer. Once juiced, add to a blender. Place avocado into blender and blend briefly. Slowly add coconut oil while it is still blending (or add periodically if you need to stop your blender). Blend until smooth.

Coconut Oil for Hot Drinks

Again, coconut oil works best in something thick. But if you’re looking to drink some tea before bed, coconut oil can also be incorporated by mixing it with honey first. This helps it to melt and mix into the drink better so you can avoid large clumps in your drink.

Lemon Tea with Coconut Oil

You’ll Need:

  • 1 tsp raw honey
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • ½ lemon, juiced
  • 1 bag green tea (or any herbal tea of choice)
  • Hot water

Mix together honey and coconut oil in a mug. Add tea, water, and lemon juice. Steep until desired strength is reached.

You may experience clumping, but simply stir before drinking.

  1. I’ve heard a little bit about coconut oil and it’s health benefits. I did not know that it came with all of the benefits that you have listed. I’ll have to see about adding some of this to my drinks to help me out.
